What sets the Oceana collection apart is its unique combination of materials and traditional craft techniques. Each mirror features a gravity cast pewter frame that is meticulously hand-finished. The mirror backs are adorned with hand-colored organza, adding a touch of color and vibrancy. Laser-cut acrylic mirror discs ensure safety when carried in purses and bags, while also keeping the weight down.

The Oceana collection offers both practicality and collectability. The mirrors are ergonomically sized for ease of use, with large mirrors measuring 73mm in diameter and small mirrors measuring 48mm in diameter. Each mirror comes with a protective velvet pouch to prevent scratching and is boxed in a luxurious red velour jewel case, adding to its desirability as a collectible item.

Clive and Tina Bullivant embarked on extensive research to ensure the Oceana collection met the needs and desires of their target market. They surveyed women in the 30 to 50 age bracket and discovered two primary uses for the mirrors: a small mirror that can be easily carried in a purse and a larger mirror that can be displayed on dressing tables. This insight allowed them to create simple ergonomic models that catered to specific purposes.

The design process for the Oceana collection was not without its challenges. The Bullivants had to strike a balance between eye-catching aesthetics and functional practicality. Through feedback from clients and focus groups, they were able to achieve this delicate balance. Additionally, the selection of materials was crucial in achieving a luxurious look while remaining cost-effective.

The Oceana collection has received recognition for its outstanding design. In 2014, it was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Fine Arts and Art Installation Design category. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate exceptional expertise, innovation, and artistic skill.
